Miley Cyrus??

Just recently, well recently enough, Miley Cyrus has been creating quite a stir with her racy and outrageous behavior, some might say.    Really.     Is that right.   Is that so.   Ha!    Maybe.

One might ask; who exactly is Miley Cyrus?   Or better yet, what is she.   She's an actress.   A singer.   A child-star grown up.  The daughter of a singer.    She's all those things.   Perhaps it's simplest to say she's an entertainer.  A star.    So she runs on publicity to some extent.   But above all, whatever it is the public sees, that's an image.  Does it reflect reality?   I don't know; you tell me.

To sort of switch gears for a second, take Robert Downey Jr.as an example   He is not Tony Stark and he is not Iron Man, and he's neither any more than he is Charlie Chaplin.   He's not Kirk Lazarus and Lincoln Osiris either.    So Miley Cyrus isn't Hannah Montana, and that's pretty much the point to that one there.

Yet to some extent, in the mind's eye and otherwise, they are all those people as well, having projected them to others.   People, many people think of them that way.   Now, were those just jobs to them, temporary things to be forgotten.  Most certainly.   Yet also, doesn't any of what they became, even in pretending to be, become part of them as well to some extent?

Even if they spend most of the rest of their lives trying to act as though the roles, and the public's perception of such roles, never existed.
