Part 1: The item that isn't there.

Here's what the Mad Catz MIDI pro adapter for Rock Band 3 on the XBOX 360 looks like:

Now, you may wonder just what exactly this thing is, or may only wonder why it's important.  What can be done with the thing.   If  you don't know, maybe that's because of a failure in marketing.   Perhaps it's something else.

It isn't just that this adapter is currently unavailable from most sources for the XBOX 360, although it has  just recently come "in stock" from the supplier's store for that platform.   After all, if you have a PS3 or a Wii, you've been able to get one from multiple sources for at least a little while.   So if you have a PS3 or a Wii, you might know what it is too.    Regardless of the platform.   Even if you don't have a console game system at all.   If you know what it is or have it, how about your friends then?

Perhaps the real question here is if you or anyone you know plays or has been wanting to learn how to play drums, keyboards, guitar or bass.
